![]() So all in all, a good room but just feel like it was let down by the poor reset/GM'ing.With a variety of episodes available from a Prison Break to the fairy-tale themed Once Upon a Time each of our episodes take you. Loved the GM character, just wish she had been more present when needed. Otherwise we really enjoyed the room, 2 puzzles (the 2 right hand silver box challenges) were definitely not our thing but all in all it was a good mix of types of task and nice theming. There seemed a few other little tech hiccups later on as she asked us to do things multiple times. As soon as we got that missing part we flew along again but multiple times after that it as like the GM could'nt see properly as she asked us what was happening or what we had done and she should know surely? Very frustrating in that we literally lost 10mins faffing around through no fault of our own and you really expect a GM to be on the ball. so we asked some more and some more and after 5mins we finally had a response from her! It turns out the previous reset had'nt put something back into the room that we needed. We spent 5mins going around and around and nothing so we asked for some clues. The room seemed good when we were inside and we were flying along but then we got completely stumped and could'nt for the life of us work out what to do. The GM was great on briefing and fully into character. We have waited years to play this game and finally the stars aligned. I look forward to going back in the future to try out the other 2 games on offer and would definitely recommend Co-decode to anyone looking to play a game that stands up to it's positive reviews. We completed the game with 1 minute 24 seconds left so again, I'm glad we didn't go for the harder difficulty setting! ![]() The game had good themeing throughout and its clear a lot of time and effort has gone into building the room and setting the scene. The puzzles in this game were very unique which I always love, especially as I've played 60 games now, so it's nice to see new concepts. This worked out well and we only needed help on a few ocassions. Our host and games master Alex was very friendly and we agreed that he would only give us help or hints if we asked or if we were completely heading in the wrong direction with something. We played on medium difficulty as there was only 2 of us and thought that was a safer option. The good thing with this company is you can adjust the difficulty level to give you more puzzles to solve in the room. My mum and I played Professor Dunstan and the search for the Ancient Statuette which was another successful mission to us relatively experienced players. Had heard only good things about Co-Decode's rooms so I was glad to finally get to see for myself. ![]() If you like scary rooms, this will be right up your street, go and play it! We've been talking about it since we came out three days ago!! I've given this room the highest rating as it deserves it. I can honestly say my heart was pounding in this room! The tension is built up gradually and the scares don't interfere with the game play at all, more enhancing it if anything. This 'friend' stayed in character throughout and helped drive the immersion in the story. We were given regular updates on time remaining through our 'friend' on a walkie talkie who also helped us out when we got stuck with subtle hints. The final puzzle was a unique one that we have never come across before (and probably won't again!) but it was bang on theme and has a twist that is absolutely devious but so, so clever. The audio in the room has obviously been given careful thought and builds the suspense beautifully through to the climax. ![]() It's a large room that certainly tested our search skills and would definitely suit larger groups as well as twosomes. ![]() I particularly like a good scary room and this is an incredibly well themed room that sets itself apart from standard "hide from the serial killer" by having more and appropriate live actor interaction added. ![]()
